About this Role
As our Senior Editor, Marketing & Content, you will ensure the highest quality of writing and editing across audience-facing copy. You will be a key steward of our voice, refining and strengthening our messaging across email, social media, web, print, and other marketing materials while also ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all written content. A gifted practitioner of language, storytelling, and editing, you will serve as a coach and resource for the entire organization, helping teams communicate more clearly and effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership
- Hire, train and manage any editorial contractors, including copy editors and proofreaders.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to internal teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in written communication.
- Conduct writing workshops and training sessions as needed to improve team members’ writing and editing skills.
Responsibility:
- Own, develop, and update BibleProject’s style guide, ensuring clarity and consistency throughout.
- Establish guidelines for terminology, grammar, and structure to ensure consistency in all written materials.
- Collaborate with the Scholarship team to refine standards around technical and theological language usage that reflects our teaching voice.
Expertise
- Develop processes to streamline editorial workflows while upholding quality standards.
- Conduct periodic content audits to identify inconsistencies and areas for enhancement across all communication channels.
- Work with teams across the organization to develop, edit, and deliver high-quality written content, including email, social posts, Classroom curriculum, Podcast show notes, web articles, reading plans, and patron communications.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience managing editorial workflows in online and/or print publishing environments, with a demonstrated ability to uphold high standards for written content and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of BibleProject’s content, including familiarity with its mission, values, and creative approach to biblical storytelling.
- Strong working knowledge of the Bible and familiarity with key topics in biblical studies. Formal education in biblical or theological studies at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain editorial consistency and accuracy across various content formats and distribution channels.
Nice to have:
- You have broad copy experience. You have experience in marketing and product copy, as well as online and/or print publications and the ability to improve written content across a wide range of products (e.g., curriculum, feature articles, devotional and interpretive guides, undergraduate- and graduate-level course materials, and more).

Compensation & Benefits
- The annual salary range for this role is $84,000 - $105,000
