About This Role
As the Lead Frontend Engineer for our web platform, you will be responsible for writing high-quality, meticulously tested web code, and leading other engineers to do the same. Operating within a modern web ecosystem, you’ll work in the codebase, contributing your expertise and creativity to enhance user experiences. You will work under the guidance of a Principal Engineer and receive mentorship to sharpen your skills and expand your understanding.
Your role extends beyond the codebase; you'll actively engage with Product and Design teams to brainstorm, define, and implement innovative features and improvements. You’ll collaborate with QA engineers to swiftly identify and resolve issues. We value a culture of teamwork, meaning you will collaborate with and lead fellow engineers, fostering collective problem-solving and continuous growth. Additionally, you'll share in the responsibility of on-call duties, maintaining system stability and addressing emergencies promptly.

What You’ll Do
- Write high-quality and well-tested web code for the platform, operating in a modern web ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with a Principal Engineer for technical mentorship and to expand your leadership skills.
- Foster a culture of teamwork by collaborating with and mentoring fellow engineers, engaging in collective problem-solving, and promoting continuous growth.
- Contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of features and enhancements with a focus on frontend.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.
- Work in an Agile environment, participating in and helping lead sprint ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Share in on-call responsibilities to ensure system stability.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years of experience working alongside a product manager in a software engineering organization consisting of multiple teams
- 5+ years of experience with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- 2+ years of experience in a lead role
- Deep understanding of modern web platforms and standards
- Ability to write clear, cross-browser, cross-platform code that is well-tested and well-documented
- Remix (or other React web frameworks) and server-side experience is a plus

Location: This role can be done from anywhere in the United States. Occasional travel to Portland, OR may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
- The annual salary range for this role is $123,000 - $148,000. Salary scales with experience directly related to this role.
